The political picture on the national stage came into focus with 2016’s penultimate Democratic Primary in the District of Columbia. Ward 4 Councilmember Brandon Todd will hold on to his position on the Council. However, Ward 7, 8 and an At-Large seat will see new faces. Former Mayor Vince Gray bested his former protege Yvette Alexander in Ward 7. Trayon White won a close race against LaRuby May in Ward 8. Most surprisingly, Robert White ousted At-Large Councilmember Vincent Orange.
