What are the DCAR Committees?
DCAR is led by a group of volunteer REALTORS® and REALTOR® associates who dedicate much of their time and energy to furthering the organization’s advocacy efforts here in Washington, DC. The Association committees consist of a diverse group of volunteers who contribute their real estate experience and expertise. The makeup of the committee structure is divided into two arms: Public Policy and Communications. Both groups are vital to the long and short-term success of the Association, and their duties are as follows:
- Public Policy – Shapes a strong and influential advocacy presence in DC. Tracks all related legislation as it passes through the legislative process.Defends the District’s housing market and REALTOR® community.
- Communications – Defines the role of DCAR in the lives of REALTORS®.Crafts DCAR’s message to raise the membership’s awareness of the issues. Informs the public and REALTORS® about DCAR’s political advocacy.
- Meeting Times – Both committees meet monthly. The Public Policy Committee meets every second Thursday at 10:00 am. The Communications Committee meets ever third Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
