DCAR Endorses Four Candidates for the Democratic Primary Election

After a series of interviews and extensive deliberation, the District of Columbia Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (DCAR RPAC) made the decision to endorse four candidates for DC Council in the 2024 Primary Election. Each of the candidates is a champion and advocate of homeownership and is actively working to provide better opportunities for small businesses. The candidates are committed to tackling issues vital to REALTORS® during their time in office.

  • Eleanor Holmes-Norton, Delegate.   Eleanor Holmes-Norton has been a highly revered Member of Congress for 3 decades. In that time, she has fought valiantly for D.C. statehood while being a REALTOR® Champion. From her perch as Ranking Member on the Transportation Committee, she has shepherded important D.C. infrastructure projects while looking out for issues important to homeowners such as the Mortgage Interest Deduction, the State & Local Property Tax deduction, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the National Flood Insurance Program.
  • Robert White, At-Large.   Robert White remains a great legislative partner on the Council and has worked with REALTORS® on issues spanning property tax credits for new homeowners to helping our housing providers work more efficiently with government agencies.
  • Brooke Pinto, Ward 2.   Brooke Pinto has shown her openness to work with REALTORS® since coming onto the Council. She understands the importance of REALTOR® issues such as mortgage protection, and worked for COVID-19 protections for our residents during the pandemic. She offers practical solutions to housing-related matters.
  • Trayon White, Ward 8.   Trayon White is an effective advocate for Ward 8 residents, ensuring their needs are well-represented on matters ranging from economic development to affordable housing. He takes a hands-on approach to constituent services and responds to everyone who reaches out to his office, including our REALTOR® community.
