Constance Maffin Named 2007 DCAR REALTOR^® of the Year

Constance W. Maffin has been named DCAR's REALTOR^® of the Year. Maffin is an Associate Broker with Coldwell Banker Residential and has been licensed in DC and Maryland since 1978. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Real Estate Board of the District of Columbia which oversees the regulation of over 12,000 licensees in the city. She is past President of DCAR and is a former board member of GCAAR. She has chaired the Public Policy, Residential Sales, Awards, and REALTOR^® Political Action Committees. In 1993 she was awarded the Distinguished Sales Associate of the Year in recognition of her professionalism and commitment to the industry. She also served as a Director of the National Association of REALTORS^® for three years.

In addition to her activities with REALTOR^® organizations, Maffin is one of the early members of the Logan Circle Community Association and has served as both an officer and board member numerous times. She is also a member of the Committee of 100, the city's oldest planning organization and citizen's lobby, and Lambda Alpha, an international land economics society, on whose board she now serves. She has recently been named as a Trustee to the DC Preservation League.

Maffin is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and holds the GRI national designation. She has also completed the National Trust for Historic Preservation's historic real estate program. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, she received her M.A. in urban policy from George Washington University and her B.A. from Barat College of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, Illinois.

The District of Columbia Association of REALTORS^® is comprised of almost 3,000 professionals who help residents find homes, and business owners find office and retail space in the District. The Association's members are on the front line of promoting ownership in the District to residents, potential residents, and business owners who are considering investing in the District.
